Sound Beginnings Delta Zeta Sorority is partnering with the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM) on the “Sound Beginnings” program. This important program will raise awareness of the need for newborn hearing screenings and the importance of early intervention by six months of age when a hearing loss is identified. The program has been endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). | ||

Service to others, whether in the community, the campus, or within the Sorority, has been an integral part of Delta Zeta since its inception. Every chapter devotes much of its attention and effort to helping where there is a need. Delta Zeta’s national philanthropy is in the area of speech and hearing. After World War II, Delta Zeta officially adopted aid to the speech and hearing impaired. Recognizing the need in this area, the Sorority supports national organizations and a variety of local projects, all concerning speech and hearing. Working with Clemson University in Community Service Because of our strong commitment to the community and to charitable causes, Delta Zeta looks forward to contributing its time, talent, and energy to community service and philanthropic projects supported by Clemson University. Delta Zeta college chapters around the country have raised money, volunteered countless hours, and given in many ways to community service projects and charitable organizations. Our Creed states, “To those whom my life may touch in slight measure, may I give graciously of what is mine.” Delta Zeta members believe in giving of their time and talents to help those in need, and in turn understand the rewarding experience of personal fulfillment and satisfaction that comes from helping others. | ||

Becoming a Delta Zeta—Delta Zeta’s Unique New Member Education Program As a New Member in Delta Zeta you will be participating in the first stage of college chapter program activity called the New Member Education Program. “Becoming a Delta Zeta” is a unique program on CD-Rom with materials and resources to help you be your best and discover your potential through membership in Delta Zeta. The “Becoming a Delta Zeta” program gives you the foundation for your involvement as a member of Delta Zeta. You will learn the history of the Sorority and your chapter; you will study Delta Zeta values and principles and during this time, and you will begin to establish bonds of lasting friendship with the entire membership. At the same time, Delta Zeta welcomes the unique talents and individuality you will bring to our Sorority. | ||
